CLIENT: County of Santa Clara Fleet and Facilities Division
PROJECT: Jail Renovation / Elmwood Correctional Facility
BUDGET: $450,000
PROJECT MANAGER: Wil Newby
SCOPE: The scope of this project required that Torres Construction renovate the men’s barracks facilities at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Santa Clara, California. For this project, we demolished walls, removed interior wall finishes, replaced the flooring, removed debris from the crawl space and treated it for pests. We also removed the interior floor finishes, including a sub-floor with a 3” overlay, and replaced all of it with new VCT flooring.
SUMMARY: The Elmwood Correctional Facility provides care, housing, and retention of approximately 2600 medium and minimum security male inmates. Our teams had to work closely with the jail’s staff to coordinate this project, ensuring that the barracks facilities and points of entry for equipment were cleared so that no breeches in security occurred. .
