Recently Completed Projects

 

Torres Construction recently completed construction of the CALS (California Academy for Liberal Studies) Middle School for PUC Charter Schools. For the project, Torres completely transformed a 29,000 square foot manufacturing facility to create a state-of-the-art middle school by stripping the structure back to its original framework and then rebuilding it.

 

Torres worked closely with the client on this project, doing everything in our power to meet an extremely tight deadline and helping them to meet their goal of moving their 500 plus students, grades 6-12, from a temporary structure to their new permanent campus.

 

Special emphasis was placed throughout the Design / Build process to create a high-performance school with a healthy and comfortable indoor learning environment. There are 21 core learning classrooms that include 6 state-of-the-art science classrooms, an art classroom, a drama and dance room, a multi-media room, and a college center. The design features a second floor roof deck that serves as a flexible open space for student gatherings, outdoor teaching, eating lunch, and recreation.
